By Jerry MackeyFARLEY, Iowa (Aug. 25) – Justin Kay wrote his name in the record books following Friday’s season championship races at Farley Speedway presented by Casey’s General Store.Kay was crowned the track champion in both the IMCA Late Model and IMCA Modified divisions, matching a feat accomplished previously by only two other drivers.Kay took charge of the Out-Pace Racing Products IMCA Late Model feature when the green flag waved and despite several attempts by strong-running Tyler Bruening scored the feature win and track championship.Kay’s run to the GSI Collision Specialists IMCA Modified title was slightly easier as he held the point the entire 20 laps and scored a comfortable win over Mark Schultz.Despite having to go to the back of the 20-car field following a lap two spin, Tyler Soppe came all the way back to the front and scored an impressive season championship win in the GSI Collision Specialists IMCA Northern SportMods.Shoppe’s win put an exclamation point on a fantastic season at Farley. Soppe’s win cemented the track title. Troy Bauer ran second and Nic Coates was third.Johnny Spaw made his third visit of the season to Farley and scored the feature win in the Baker Seamless Gutters IMCA Stock Cars. Phil Holtz ran second and earned the season long point title.Point standings for all IMCA divisions become official on Oct. 23.The next event at Farley Speedway will be the 40th annual Yankee Dirt Track Classic. Press Association The verdict comes from former Nigeria coach Samson Siasia, who has previously worked with Odemwingie at international level. Odemwingie has endured a turbulent few months in which he fell out with current Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi, resulting in him missing out on the Super Eagles’ triumph in this year’s African Nations Cup. With Albion, the 31-year-old has slowly worked his way back into the plans of manager Steve Clarke after failing with a bid to engineer himself a move to QPR on transfer deadline day. Siasia, who coached the Nigeria Under-23s to a silver medal in the 2008 Olympics where Odemwingie was the overage player, still has his doubts about the striker. “Would I invite Odemwingie to the national team if I was the head coach at the moment? No I wouldn’t,” said Siasia, who was in charge of the senior Nigeria team from 2010 to 2011. “We need players that will steer the upcoming ones in the right path and act as role models. If he does not do that, he will only end up destroying the team.” Speaking to supersport.com, Siasia added: “He confuses me to be honest. “On the pitch he’s a great player that every coach would want in his team, but off it he’s a loose cannon. “He needs to calm down and understand he now has a wife and a kid who look up to him as an example. “I pray he matures quickly because Nigerians will want to see him back in the national team.” West Brom striker Peter Odemwingie has been labelled “a loose cannon” and urged to grow up if he is to get his career back on track.
A row has erupted after a visitor to Letterkenny General Hospital condemned Ministers of the Eucharist for not washing their hands before giving out communion to patients.Martin Rijkers said he was left shocked at the lack of hygiene procedures after visiting a relative at the hospital.Mr Rijkers, from Buncrana, said the risk of spreading bacteria to people who were ill in hospital was very serious. “This is a real threat for health, especially when he puts the host in people’s mouths. Most patients in the hospital have, due to their illness, a very weak immune system.“Putting hosts in other patients’ mouths is a real health hazard and will spread around serious disease. No host should be handed out in this manner,” he claimed.Mr Rijkers said he complained to a nurse in the hospital and claimed the nurse said he had a fair point.Patients in hospital can be given communion each morning thanks to a service offered by churches around the country. However a spokesman for the HSE said not all patients received communion including those in isolation and it was up to patients to request communion. He added that anyone handling hosts had been given training in good hand hygiene aimed at preventing cross infection.“They are aware of the correct measures to take. There is no contact with patients as such; the contact is primarily between the chaplain and the host,” he said.EndsVISITOR SHOCKED AT LACK OF HYGIENE AROUND COMMUNION DISTRIBUTION AT HOSPITAL was last modified: May 10th, 2011 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:communionLetterkenny General Hospital
