Saint Mary’s formal features Hepburn theme

first_imgSaint Mary’s students channeled their inner Aubrey Hepburn on Friday at the “Splash of Class” all-school formal held at the Hilton Garden Inn. Photo courtesy of Lauren Wells The Saint Mary’s annual all-school formal incorporated an Audrey Hepburn theme.First year Jessica Alberts attended the formal and said the dance provided opportunities for bonding.“It was a great time for good friends and great memories,” Alberts said. “It was so much fun to be yourself and dance with your friends. It was nice to see everyone dressed up and look so classy.”Junior Lauren Wells, who organized the dance as the formal chair of the Residence Hall Association (RHA), has helped plan the event for three years.“I definitely see it as our most successful year thus far,” Wells said. “We [had] some incredible decorations, a free photo booth, hot chocolate bar … and of course we cannot forget the life-size Audrey Hepburn cut-out.”Wells said the formal requires months of preparation.“My co-president Maureen Malarney and myself selected our committee in September, and then we went from there,” Wells said.Wells said the classy theme played off the well-known “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.”“Being an all-girls school, we have a creative license to do themes that would tend to be more girly,” Wells said.Junior Lauren Lindbloom expressed how much she enjoyed the theme of the night.“I love Tiffany’s stuff, so I thought it was really cute, and I thought they did a really good job of decorating,” Lindbloom said.First year Susan Kratzer said her first formal experience surpassed her expectations.“I didn’t know how many people would be there or what to expect,” Kratzer said, “But it ended up being a lot of fun just being with my friends.”Lindbloom also said the formal is a good night for building relationships with fellow Saint Mary’s students.“I think it is good for our sisterhood,” Lindbloom said.Wells said praised her committee for its attention to detail and hard work that went into choosing the theme and organizing the event.Tags: breakfast at tiffany’s dance, formal at saint mary’s, saint mary’s all school formal, saint mary’s formal, splash of classlast_img read more

SODIAL(R) Cute Peacock Feather Hair Clip, Good value for money

first_imgWhat a great piece for the cost seemed fabulous on.Seems particularly as it does in the image.Made use of on a bridesmaids dress to go with the peacock themed marriage ceremony.Key specs for SODIAL(R) Cute Peacock Feather Hair Clip:Beautiful and stylish feather facinator hair clip that makes a fashion statementThe width (measure from the longest points) is around 7″ length is 7. Back With attached alligator clip and pin brooch for secure placementBoth good for wedding wearing and party purposePackage including: 1 x Peacock Feather Hair ClipComments from buyers“As scrumpled feathers are irreparable this item is useless to me, Good enough quality for the price, Good value for money” So cute great for costume up/extravagant gown.Unquestionably lovely for the rate.Appears to be superior on-line than in the flesh but was economical. This is spectacular and a very good dimension – excellent.A tiny tightly packed and 1 of the feathers was a little crushed.Have study a few destructive critiques about the condition the products arrived in but mine arrived in superior condition and was packaged adequately more than enough.Very good ample high-quality for the selling price. It was smaller sized than i imagined if a hair slide is enough for your purposes it is fantastic but not as a substitute for a fascinator. Some of the feather strands were crinkled thanks to the restricted packaging but couple of seconds over a steaming kettle before long set that correct. I wore it as a hair slide to a wedding day and it retained in place nicely. This would have been pretty if it hadn’t arrived all scrumpled up. As scrumpled feathers are irreparable this product is ineffective to me.Merchandise is superior worth for income and arrived on time.Pretty but not made as well as expected. We’ve already covered a few of them on the PremiumBeat Blog – and, well, here’s another one.The Blackmagic Video Assist is a brand new video recorder/monitor unveiled at NAB 2015. The device has SDI and HDMI inputs. The recorder can record up to 1920x1080p in 10-bit 4:2:2 HD ProRes or DNxHD. It doesn’t record 4K, so there’s no need to sell your Atomos Shogun just yet. However, at only $495, the Blackmagic Video Assist is one of the cheapest monitor/recorders on the market. The device is powered using two Canon LP-E6 batteries.Regarding the Blackmagic URSA Viewfinder — When the Blackmagic URSA was announced only a short year ago, it was awesome in almost every way, but unfortunately the camera doesn’t have a built-in viewfinder. Blackmagic has seen this problem and created an optional EVF that can be attached to the URSA. The viewfinder can be adjusted to work with both the left and right eye. It connects to the camera via SDI and has a built-in recording light that will indicate when the camera is recording.Blackmagic Video AssistPrice: $495Availability: JulyBlackmagic URSA ViewfinderPrice: $1,495Availability: JulyGoPro HEROCastHEROcast image from GoProIn an effort to make their cameras more usable in a professional context, the action-cam masters at GoPro have unveiled their first live-broadcast transmitter. However, with only a 40 minute battery life, we will be interested to see how usable this new device actually is. Currently the HEROCast only works with the HERO4 and HERO3+ cameras.HEROCast comes in two flavors, HEROCast and HEROCast BacPac. HEROCast is essentially a wireless transmitter that connects to the GoPro via HDMI cable and HEROCast BacPac is a built-in transmitter/waterproof cage that is all-in-one.Price: $7,500 Availability: UnknownApple Updates FCPX, Motion, & CompressorGreat news for Final Cut editors: Apple has just announced a few new updates to all of their video applications. In FCPX, users can now create 3D titles directly in FCPX 10.2, so there’s no need to use an external program. James Harden’s 47-point eruption lift Rockets past Jazz

first_img“We’re in a hole,” he said. “I keep saying the same thing, but if you look at the standings it (stinks) to look and see you’re not where you’re supposed to be. We just continue to work and build our way up there.”Mitchell had 23 points for the Jazz, who have lost four of five.“We had a hard time scoring for a while, and that was about the same time we weren’t close enough to (Harden), and he rose up and hit a big 3 and made a series of plays,” Jazz coach Quin Snyder said.Harden, who hit 15 of 16 free throws, had six rebounds, five assists and five steals.“He’s been getting really hot the last week, playing really aggressive, and we let him get to the free throw line, which was one of the things that we were talking about trying to avoid,” Rubio said. The Rockets had a 10-point lead after three periods and Harden put them up by 11 on a 3-pointer with about nine minutes left in the fourth. Mitchell had a nifty spinning layup before the Rockets missed five shots over their next two possessions and Danuel House turned it over the next time down.Mitchell’s layup started a 9-0 run for the Jazz, capped by a 3 from Rubio that got them to 90-88 with about 5 1/2 minutes left.Harden scored Houston’s first points in more than 3 1/2 minutes after that, and things between him and Rudy Gobert got a little testy after that. Gobert fouled Harden as he dribbled down the court and Harden approached Gobert after the call. There was some minor pushing between the two before Harden walked away. The Rockets led by 13 at halftime but Utah opened the third quarter with a 12-2 run to get to 52-49 with about 8 1/2 minutes left in the period.Utah used a 7-0 spurt later in the quarter to take a 58-57 lead. But Harden took over after that, scoring all of Houston’s points in a 9-2 run that gave the Rockets a six-point lead with about 5 1/2 minutes left in the quarter. Harden converted three-point plays on consecutive possessions before hitting a 3 after a turnover by Jae Crowder.
